Industrial Visit - HCL

On December 03, 2008, the students of NCR Business School visited HCL plant located at Rudrapur, Uttranchal. Two faculties Mr Uttam Sharma and Mr Vineet Kaushik accompanied the students.

HCL dominates the IT space as a leader. 55,000 gifted professionals, a colossal US $4.8 Billion turnover, an international presence in 18 countries, and most importantly a deep-rooted commitment to innovate, makes it a true Technology Giant. HCL Infosystems has alliances with global technology leaders like Intel, AMD, Microsoft, Bull, Toshiba, Nokia, Sun Microsystems, Ericsson, nVIDIA, SAP, Scansoft, SCO, EMC, Veritas, Citrix, CISCO, Oracle, Computer Associates, RedHat, Infocus, Duplo, Samsung and Novell.

Mr Jagat Narayan, Dy. Manager-QA welcomed the group to their plant and led them to their conference hall along with three other Engineers. The students were given with a brief presentation of HCL Info Systems Ltd. Apart from this; HR department of HCL shared a whole lot of information on various aspects of HCL.

After this valuable information, students were taken to the plant wherein they saw production of HCL desktops. The employees working in plant were also very helpful and answered students’ query with full interest.

Industrial visits provide the students an interface between academia and industrial environment. Industrial orientation is aimed at helping them in understanding the practical aspects of what they study in classroom.

At NCR Business School, summer training and industrial visits are an integral part of the curriculum to expose the students to real working environment in different industries. The students are required to undertake Summer Training in any reputed Industrial/ Commercial/ Business Establishment for eight to ten weeks during the summer vacation and submit the Project Report which is presented in the seminar and discussed thoroughly by the faculty and the students. It provides them with an opportunity to closely observe various aspects of business operations.

Corporate Resource Centre

The Corporate Resource Centre interacts with the Industry professionals to provide Placement assistance, Industry Interaction and Summer Training assistance. The faculty in-charge operates with the support of student representatives to conduct this vital activity. The Institute has tie-ups with various Industries of repute for conducting these activities such as, Airtel, ABN Amro, Bajaj Alliance, Cadila Cosmetics, Cipla, HDFC Bank, HCL, HP, India Infoline, India mart, ICICI Prudential, JK Cement, LG Electronics, Reliance Retail Ltd, etc.
